The CSCU system is a member of the Open Education Network, which is a vibrant and supportive community that advances the use of open educational resources and practices. Members benefit from and contribute to the global open education ecosystem.

This statewide body identifies high-impact courses for which open educational resources will be developed, converted, or adopted; maintains a program of competitive grants for faculty members of institutions of higher education in the state for the development, conversion, or adoption of OER for high-impact courses; and promotes strategies for the production, use and access of OER, among other actions.
