About Me
Hi, I am Yoli Bergstrom-Lynch! I am a Research and Instruction Librarian here at CT State Manchester and the coordinator of our library instruction program.
If you need help with your research or course-related projects, please feel free to schedule a one-on-one appointment with me. I am always happy to help! Research appointments are up to 30 minutes long and can be virtual or in person at the Library. If you need help right away, please drop by the Library (LRC A112) during opening hours or give us a call (860-512-2883).
If you are a faculty member who would like to schedule a library instruction session for your class, you may do so by completing the Library Instruction Request form.
A little about me: Before becoming a librarian, I taught sociology courses for 10 years right here at MCC. My primary areas of expertise include all things sociology, critical criminology and penology, race and ethnic relations, urban ethnography, critical theory, Black feminisms, social inequalities, Afrofuturism, Blues history and geographies, open education, and qualitative research.
I am the librarian for sociology, anthropology, psychology, criminal justice, college and career success, general studies, liberal arts and sciences, English, humanities, philosophy, and language/ESL As a librarian, I enjoy working closely with students and faculty to support teaching, learning, and research. I approach librarianship through the lens of equity, diversity, inclusion, social justice, and critical pedagogy. My ultimate goal is to foster inclusive and equitable learning environments.
