Tips for Selecting A Topic

Selecting a topic can be challenging. Below are some tips to aid in the process:

 

 Review course materials. Readings, class discussions, and the assignment may help you to get inspired.

 

 Choose a topic that sparks your curiosity.  It will make your research more meaningful & enjoyable.

 

 Browse current events. Doing so can help you land on an idea.

 

 Talk with friends. You might find inspiration through informal conversations.

 

 Seek Advice. Visit your professor’s office hours to workshop ideas. Also, ask a librarian.

 To borrow materials from any of the CT State Community College campus libraries, the 4 state universities, and the CT State Library follow these steps:
  1. Select the "Sign In" option when you find a book in the Manchester Library catalog
  2. Enter your Banner ID and password
  3. Click the "Request from another library" button
  4. Submit your request

You'll receive an email letting you know when you're requested item can be picked up from the Manchester campus library.
