How Do I Get Started?

The following instructions will take you through the step-by-step process of adding the Connecticut State Community College library to the Palace Project app you have downloaded on your iOS or Android device. These instructions will guide you through:

  1. Adding the Connecticut State Community College library
  2. Applying for a virtual library card

In order to apply for a virtual library card you will need the following:

  1. A student or faculty email address (---@myctstate.edu)
  2. Location services turned on for your device (only necessary for this initial set up process)
  3. A pen and paper to record your virtual library card number for safekeeping

If you have these things all set and you are ready to get started, please follow the instructions below.

Setting up my library

STEP 1

When you first download and open the app, you will be prompted to find your library. If you are a student at CT State Asnuntuck or one of the other community colleges, you will type in Connecticut State Community College.

STEP 4

At the top of the page is where you will enter the VLC Barcode, however, you probably do not have one yet. Look to the bottom of the screen and click create card. Location services must be allowed for this process. Don't worry, you can always turn them off again later.

Step 5

Here is where you will enter the following information:

  • first name
  • last name
  • school email address
  • create a password

Please note that you are creating a password to use with the library card/VLC number you will be issued. This is not asking for the password associated with your school email address.

After creating your password, check to confirm you are not a robot, and click submit.

  1. Click the link to verify your email address
  2. Copy or write down the library barcode
