To see if Capital owns a specific title, or to look up an item’s call number, you will need to search the online catalog. The catalog is an index which identifies what the library owns and where items are located.

The library catalog is accessible from any computer with an Internet connection. Although you are accessing the catalog through the internet, it is very different than conducting a search in Google, Bing, or Yahoo. Since the catalog only identifies library materials, items that librarians or faculty have purchased, you can safely assume that the information is more reliable than the information you obtain from an Internet search engine.
