Access to Computers and Wi-Fi

Computer and wireless access

Computers are located on both the 4th and 5th floors of the Library. Computers in the library are provided as a learning and research tool. Academic computer use is given priority over all other uses. Printers are available in both labs. Students are given 200 pages of printing per semester. 

Wireless access is available to students, staff, and faculty by signing in with your NVCC username and password when prompted.

Quiet Study Spaces

Quiet study areas are available: 

  • on the 5th floor by the windows
  • on the 4th floor near the magazines and journals
  • in L501, when not in use. Scheduled events in L501 are posted on the door to L501

Group Study Rooms

Group study rooms are currently first come, first served. Library guidelines regarding suitable behavior (including rules regarding food and drink) apply to study room users.

Two group study rooms are available on the 4th floor of the Library. Each group study room holds a conference table and chairs that can accommodate up to 6-8 people.

This area seats up to 20 and is in the same space as the Collaboration Station and the Children's Library. 

Collaboration Station

If you’ve been assigned a group project that includes a presentation, the library offers a collaborative project space equipped with state of the art technology!

Collaboration Station FAQs:

  • Located on the fourth floor of the library in the Group Study Area
  • Seats up to 6 students
  • Has a 42" flat panel monitor and plugs for 6 laptops which will display on the monitor using a technology called a "PUCK"

Two more workstations are located in the Academic Center for Excellence in E500.
