Max R. Traurig Library Reading Commons Mission

The mission of the Max R. Traurig Library Reading Commons is to support, promote, and encourage book browsing and reading of new books, journals, and magazines among students, faculty, staff, and the community in a comfortable and quiet space. The Reading Commons includes:

  • Books new to the collection
  • Fiction published within the last 5 years
  • Graphic novels, comics, and manga
  • Popular nonfiction titles including self-help, newsmakers, cookbooks, and gardening books
  • Print magazines and journals
  • E-readers loaded with “themed” collections such as suspense and romance (available at the Check Out desk)

The Reading Commons collections are reviewed annually and items may be placed back into the regular collection. The Reading Commons collections are available for online browsing. Browse the Reading Commons Collection
