Finding Tests and Measures in PsycInfo and PsycArticles

You can search PsycINFO for articles that include the survey/interview questions or scales used in the study. Typically, these materials (or portions of them) are included in the article as an Appendix. Therefore, we are going to use the keyword “Appended” in addition to our topic keywords.

The following is an example of how you can set up your search. In the example, I’m interested in finding scales or survey items related to measuring stress.

In the top box, I’ve typed my keyword, “stress.” In the second box, I typed “appended.” I then used the drop-down menu for Select a Field to select TM Tests & Measures

When it’s time to browse results, you’ll see that the appended tests and measures are listed along with other information about the article. For example, this article:

Al, G. E., Alzayyat, A., & Ahmad, M. M. (2016). Prevalence of internet addiction and its association with psychological distress and coping strategies among university students in Jordan. Perspectives in Psychiatric Care52(1), 49–61. https://doi.org/10.1111/ppc.12102
