What is a Permalink?

To avoid broken links to a resource in your instructional material, always use the permalink to a resource.

What is a "Permalink"?
A permalink is a "permanent link", also known as a "stable link" URL or web address link that will not change over time.  An example of a permalink is a website domain name.  What's not a permalink?  Copying and pasting the URL of your search results.

How Do I Find a Permalink?
It depends on the resource, but you may see an icon with a chain link like this:

Permalink Examples
