Laptop Loan Policy

Laptops are available to current Capital campus students only

  • The Arthur C. Banks, Jr. library offers semester-long laptop loans for CT State-Capital Campus students on a first-come first-served basis.

  • The standard loan period for laptops is one semester. For students enrolled in a Continuing Education program, the loan period shall be for the program's length. Proof of enrollment is required and the loan process must be completed in person.

  • All Laptops are available for checkout at the Library Circulation Desk, located on the fifth floor.

  • It is up to the student to renew a laptop in person or by contacting the library by phone, email, or chat.

  • Laptops can be renewed for the summer or winter intersession on or before the laptop due date. All students need to provide proof of class enrollment to extend a laptop due date.

  • Students are responsible for the condition of the laptops and associated items (chargers, USB, webcams etc.) while they are checked out. Therefore, all students must turn on the laptop and verify the conditions in which they received the laptop.

  • All laptops must be returned to the Arthur C. Banks Library on the 5th floor of the CT State Community College: Capital Campus located at 950 Main Street, Hartford CT.

  • The Library reserves the right to contact students with overdue items. Any laptop that is 10 days overdue will be declared lost.

  • Please do not return laptops to the book drop. Return the laptop to the staff at the Circulation Desk. If a laptop is not returned a registration hold will be placed on the student’s account until the laptop is returned or the student pays the replacement cost.

    • Laptop cost range from $200 to $2000.

    • Laptop case and chargers range from $30 to $50.

  • A Payment Plan can be established for replacement fees greater than or equal to $200.
