The libraries of the CSCU Library Consortium are committed to collaboration in support of equity, diversity, inclusion, and social justice. This commitment is sometimes in tension with the terminology that’s used to catalog collections and that you may see displayed in resource records. This terminology reflects national and international cataloging standards, but sometimes it’s biased, outdated, offensive, or harmful. The libraries are actively involved in efforts resulting in the display of terminology that’s more accurate and inclusive.
