Course Objectives

  1. Compare and contrast the historical schools and the contemporary perspectives of psychology.  
  2. Describe the biological basis of human behavior.   
  3. Discuss how psychologists use the scientific method to generate knowledge of human behavior.  
  4. Identify and explain memory stages and processes.  
  5. Define motivation and describe the key elements of emotion.   
  6. Compare and contrast the major learning theories.   
  7. Recognize the multidimensional influences on human development.  
  8. Summarize the different patterns and theories of stress, coping, and wellness.
