This helpful video, created by Librarian Jenna Stebbins, will guide you through finding articles about nursing topics. Note: we do have a new homepage and the databases page is slightly different, but all of the information is the same. 

Start your research using CINAHL, the Cumulative Index of Nursing and Allied Health Literature:

1. Enter your search term or terms in the search boxes at the top- but DON'T hit enter yet!
   
2. Scroll down and make sure "Limit to Full Text" is selected. Add dates to limit results to the last 3 years: 
   
3. If Evidence-Based Practice is required, check off that option- but note that sometimes limiting to Evidence-Based Practice will give you more articles on research studies. 
4. Limit to "USA" under Geographic Subset. You will need to double check your article, as sometimes articles written about other countries that have an American author will be listed.
5. Finally, select "Any Author is Nurse" to limit to articles written by nurses:
   
6. Click Search to see your results!

1. Click the link above to access Health Source: Nursing and Academic Edition
2. Click the Peer Reviewed and Full Text boxes as needed
3. Health Source has fewer limiters than CINAHL, but you can still limit by full text and date. Use terms like "USA" and "physical therapy" in the search boxes to try to limit to your other required attributes.                        

Google Scholar can be a great tool for expanding your research. Remember- don't pay for articles! Check with the NVCC Library any time you find something good that wants you to pay- we will either have it, or can get it for you through interlibrary loan.

Visit https://scholar.google.com/ to search Google Scholar, and use the same searching techniques you used in the databases!
