Welcome to the Seed Library at CT State Naugatuck Valley's Max R. Traurig Library!

The Seed Library is located on the 4th floor of the library in the Reading Commons. 

What is the seed library?

The seed library is a collection of heirloom seed packets available for "check out." Patrons can take a few packets to grow at home. We encourage borrowers to save seeds at the end of the growing season and return them to the library for lending to future borrowers, but this is not required.

Through the seed library we hope that you will:

• grow something you never have before
• learn about the cultivation of food crops and flowers that thrive in our local ecologies
• learn how to save seeds to grow crops in future seasons
• experience the joy of growing something yourself
• explore self-sufficient and local production of nutritious foods
• have fun!
