The Policy of Physical Reserved Textbooks is designed to ensure fair and efficient access to this part of academic resources in the library.
Under this policy, Norwalk Library reserves textbooks for checkout exclusively by Norwalk campus students. To maintain equal opportunities for all students, each student can check out one textbook at a time for 90 minutes and use it in the library only. However, students are welcome to renew the material for an extended time if no other requests have been made.
The library staff will ensure that reserve materials are well-maintained and readily available for use throughout the academic semester. Course instructors can place copies of assigned readings or essential materials required for courses on reserve. By enforcing this policy, the library aims to support students' learning needs while also promoting equitable access to course-specific materials.
You can find out which books are available physically by searching with the reserve textbook search box or by speaking to a librarian at the checkout desk.
Best Practices: Type in course code (ex. Bio 1001) or textbook title (Practically Speaking)
