Norwalk Student Research Paper Award

In partnership with Norwalk faculty and the Tutoring Center, the Norwalk Campus Library gladly introduces the Norwalk Student Research Paper Award, which recognizes excellent student research. Two winning papers will be awarded $300 each. The research paper award winners will also be honored by official recognition on an award plaque that will be displayed in the library and publication of their paper on the library website.


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Students must be enrolled at the CT State Norwalk campus at least part time during the following semesters: Summer 2023, Fall 2023, Spring 2024.
  • The paper or project must be the student's own work and must have been submitted for credit in a class taken during the 2023-2024 academic year.
  • All sources must be cited using a standard citation format (MLA, APA, AMA, or Chicago/Turabian)
  • Web resources cited must be of high quality 
  • All submissions must include an accompanying paragraph reflecting on what was learned about research and writing/editing strategies and how to apply library resources and tools.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES  A successful application must include the following:

  • Your name, student email address, and phone number
  • Your paper or project, converted to a Word document
  • The Norwalk campus course name for which the paper was written
  • The name of the professor who assigned and graded your paper
  • A copy of the assignment
  • A paragraph reflecting on what you learned about research and writing/editing strategies and how to apply research resources and tools while working on your paper.
