- What is The Palace Project app?
- The Palace Project app or Palace app is a mobile e-reader application that allows you to borrow ebooks and electronic audiobooks from your university library. This is a free resource made available through a partnership with the Connecticut State Library. Browse through thousands of titles available to you in the palm of your hand!
- What devices can I use to access The Palace Project app?
- The Palace Project app is available for Apple (iOS) and Android phones and tablets. Unfortunately, the app is unavailable for Kindle devices or laptops at this time. For more information, click here.
- Can I use my college or university login to borrow books?
- In order to borrow books, you will need to create a Virtual Library Card (VLC) for The Palace Project app. Please follow the steps under Setting up a Virtual Library Card to create your virtual barcode. If you try to log in to the Palace app using your college or university credentials you will receive an error message.
- How do I borrow a book?
- Open The Palace Project app and search for your library to open the library’s catalog page. From the catalog page you can browse for titles that fall under your areas of interest. Once you’ve found a title you’d like to borrow, click on the title image and select Get on the item page. Book already checked out? Select Reserve to place a hold.
- What types of books are in The Palace Project app?
- CSCU libraries have access to thousands of leisure reading titles made available through the Connecticut State Library’s eGO collection. This statewide collection consists of adult, YA and juvenile fiction and non-fiction ebooks and audiobooks. A sampling of content includes diverse authors, banned books, Nutmeg Award winners, Connecticut history, Spanish language materials, All CT Reads titles, genre fiction and much more! Additionally you’ll have access to over 16,000 open ebooks from the Palace Bookshelf which range from classics to open educational resources.
- What if I run into a technical problem?
- To report a technical problem, select Report an Issue on your library’s account page in The Palace Project app. This page can be found by going to Settings > Libraries and selecting your library at the top of the screen. Don’t have your app handy? Reach out to us directly at academicsupport@thepalaceproject.org.
- Can I use The Palace Project app on multiple devices?
- Yes! You are able to log in to multiple devices with your Virtual Library Card. Once logged in, be sure to select “Sync Bookmarks” to save your reading placement and bookmarks on all devices.
