Right in the middle of the HCC Library homepage is a search box (seen below). That is Housatonic Search, and it's your way to search through our catalog, and many of the library databases.

When using this search box you are searching:

• Physical items found in the HCC Library (i.e. books, DVDs, audiobooks, print journals).
• Electronic resources (eBooks, online journals, newspaper/magazine content).
• The physical collections of all 4 Connecticut state universities, 12 community colleges, and the state library.

The HCC catalog is integrated into Quick Search

By default we have it set to look through all of the materials, both physical and electronic, that the HCC Library provides access to. Using the drop-down menu you can limit your results to only the following:

• Journal Articles
• Books, DVDs, etc.
• Course Reserves
• Materials available through the CSCU Consortium

Signing into your account provides the following features:

• See what you have checked out or requested, and renew items (if possible).
• Create and save searches and lists of results.
• Request books from other libraries in our consortium.
• Request full-text articles (this requires an additional log-in: your ILIAD username and password)

After you've run a search, click the sign-in option in the top-right of the page.

Click on 'Community college signon'.

Use your campus username and password. Do not include '@hcc.commnet.edu', just use the 8-digit username.
