Troubleshooting and Helpful Resources

1. If you have any problems logging on to Blackboard, refer to Not Able to Log on to Blackboard under Get Ready and Logon folder. Reviewing Preparation for Blackboard under Get Ready and Logon folder may help you diagnose and resolve your problem.
2. If you are not able to use some tools such as Discussions, Mail, attaching a file, or other tools in Blackboard, you may need to:

  • Use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browser since you may experience problems with Internet Explorer and Safari browser.
  • Remove pop-up blockers, filters, and firewalls on your computer. Clear out the Browser Cache.
  • Many login problems and tool usage problems can be resolved by the use of Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome web browser and clear out your browser cache. On Blackboard Institution Page, scroll down, you will see a link called Clear your Browser's cache for further help.

3. For all other technical problems

  • a. Visit the Technical Support Center. - 860-723-0221 - this help desk is 24/7.

    b. Should the technical problem persist, report this to the MxCC Distance Learning department using one of the following methods:

    Stop by the Distance Learning offices in Chapman 701B/C, Middletown Campus Office hours: M-F, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

4. For questions on course content, contact your professor. If you are not able to access Blackboard, immediately report this problem to your professor at their college email account. To find their external email account, visit the college directory page and click on Search People tab. Search for your professor.

5. For questions on the course content in an on-ground course that uses the Blackboard course site, consult your professor in class.
