Assignment Specifics - Prepare an Annotated Bibliography

  • The purpose of an annotated bibliography to summarize and evaluate the research materials (sources) used.
  • List your research materials alphabetically by author, formatting the citation as specified in class by the instructor.  Be sure to include the proper source types and number of sources.  All sources listed in the annotated bibliography must be utilized within the content of the educational brochure.
  • Below each citation include a descriptive paragraph (200-250 words) that explains the information learned and the relevance of each source to your project. Include the specific information (concepts and facts) that you learned from each source and explain how this information will be used in your project by specifically indicating what section of your brochure (background and/or current research) this information will be used for.
  • Examples and guidelines on writing annotated bibliographies are linked on the Blackboard shell under “web links”.
  • Complete the self evaluation and attach the rubric to the annotated bibliography.
  • Do not cut and paste sentences or paragraphs from the articles.  A sentence or phrase may be used if cited properly.
  • Format: Times New Roman font, size 12, 1.5 spacing, and 1 inch margins.  An electronic copy must submitted via Safe Assign in the Assignment Module in Blackboard. 
  • Each student must complete their own self-evaluation of that annotated bibliography.
