What are reserves?
Course reserves are a special set of items at the Library that are being used for courses, including many textbooks. These items are available for Tunxis students to borrow, but usually for a shorter period of time, and they are often required to remain in the library even while checked out.
How do I access a reserve item?
To borrow a physical reserve item, bring your Student ID to the Circulation Desk and ask for the material.
How long can I borrow a reserve item?
The loan period for reserve items vary, but most textbooks can be checked out for two hours at a time and must stay in the Library.
Why isn't the textbook for my course on reserve?
While we strive to have as many textbooks on reserve as possible, we are not able to offer every textbook for every course.
The A&P/Microbiology Study Room and its contents are grant-funded for the exclusive use of Tunxis students who are currently enrolled in specific courses.
No exceptions. Please check at the circulation desk to see if your name is on the appropriate class roster.
This room is located on the first floor of the library. Tunxis students may reserve the room for two hours.
The A&P/ Microbiology Room is not intended for independent studying. Even though only one student can reserve the room for two hours, several students can use the room at the same time. No student should prohibit another student from the study room unless it is at maximum capacity. The room is equipped with microscopes & slides, and most models which are similar to those used during the laboratory session. Students must have a CT State Community College student I.D. and currently be enrolled in BIO-2111, BIO-2112 and/or BIO-2350 to make a reservation. Tunxis Campus students enrolled in Allied Health programs may also make a reservation.
