In Spanish language classes, students learn about both language and culture. Two big projects contribute to cultural learning. The semester ends with each student sharing a presentation based on researching basic facts about the history and culture of a Spanish-speaking country. At mid-semester, students learn about the traditions of el Día de los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead, by creating their own altars or displays remembering and honoring the life of a deceased person.
Use the navigation tabs at the left to learn more about el Día de los Muertos and to view the students' work.
Each student's work is displayed by express permission.
