Find a Poet & Choose a Poem -- Recommended Sources
Poetry InternationalFrom the homepage navigation bar, choose “countries” to find an alphabetical list of countries. If your assigned country is there, click to find poets, brief biographical information and, sometimes, both original Spanish-language poetry and English translations. Audio and video files also available for some poems. Cite your source using MLA-8th edition citation style.
Poetry Translation CentreFrom the Poetry Translation Centre homepage, choose the "Poets" menu. Then select your country from the drop-down menu. Click on the name of the poet to see brief biographical information and to access links to his or her poems. Generally, three versions of each poem are provided: original language; literal translation; and meaningful translation based on a collaborative process. Cite your source using MLA 8th edition citation style.
Los PoetasThis Spanish-language website has a list of poets by country. All the poems and biographical data are in Spanish, but you can use this site to find a poet’s name, and then use library databases to find biographical information and poems.
