Indirect causes for World War II

Here are some indirect causes that led to World War II 1939-1945

  1. Decisions made at the Treaty of Versailles that ended WWI
  2. 1923 France begins to occupy Western Half of Germany (the Ruhr).
  3. 1925 Locarno Treaty legitimized France's occupation of the Ruhr.
  4. The Great Depression 1929-1939.
  5. 1923 Mussolini came to power.
  6. 1933 Hitler comes to power. Germany withdraws from the League of Nations.
  7. 1935 Hitler renounced disarmament from the end of WWI and starts conscription.
  8. Mussolini attacks Ethiopia in 1936 the same year Nazi Germany throw the French out of the Ruhr.
  9. Spanish Civil War starts in 1936.
  10. Spring 1938 Germany and Austria unite. 
  11. Munich peace accord.  Chamberlain the Prime Minister of England capitulates Czechoslovakia to Hitler.
