Reservation Slots: QVCC students are allowed to reserve The Mindfulness Room in 30-minute increments at the Learning Center desk.

Reservations limited to 4 persons:  Individual QVCC students in a group may not reserve consecutive time periods, effectively locking up The Mindfulness Room for multiple time periods. Exceptions may be considered upon approval from the Library Staff or the Learning Center.

Room Renewal:  Room reservations may be renewed within 10 minutes of the end of a booking time if no one else is waiting for the room. Students must check with the staff at the Learning Center desk to request renewal.

No Shows:  Not showing up within 10 minutes of a The Mindfulness Room reservation time cancels the reservation.

Early Departure: Individuals or groups who leave The Mindfulness Room before the end of a reservation time should notify staff at the Learning Center that the room is available. Persons using The Mindfulness Room without a reservation may be asked to leave the room.

Food and Drink: Individuals may bring food and drinks into The Mindfulness Room. Food means light snacks only, not meals, sandwiches, pizza, and other excessively messy food items. Individuals are responsible for any potential food or drink debris. Food and drink privileges may be restricted or rescinded by library staff or the Learning Center if abused.

Maximum capacity: No more than 4 persons may use the Mindfulness Room at one time. Exceptions may be considered upon approval from the Library Staff or the Learning Center.

Disruptive Behavior: The Mindfulness Room at the Learning Center does not accept any disruptive behavior, which includes excessive noise and other inappropriate behaviors that adversely affect other Library or Learning Center users. The Library Staff and Learning Center reserves the right to ask individuals who are behaving in an inappropriate or disruptive manner to leave The Mindfulness Room. Repeat violators may be barred from The Mindfulness Room. Disruptive behavior violations will be documented and reported to the Campus Associate Dean of Student Development and Dean of Academic Affairs and Student Services.

QVCC Students may appeal the loss of The Mindfulness Room privileges by following the College’s student grievance procedure which is outlined in the QVCC Student Handbook.
