Gateway Library Policies

Library Multipurpose Room Policy

Location

  • Library and Learning Commons
  • 2nd Floor, S217 (South Building)
  • Dual entrance/ exit  from inside the library as well as adjacent hallway

Scheduling

  • The Library Multipurpose Room is available for utilization by GWCC faculty and staff only.
  • Room scheduling is available on a first come, first served, basis. Individuals interested in booking the Multipurpose Room should contact Terrance Phillips (tphillips@gwcc.commnet.edu, Ext. 52058).
  • A contact person’s name, phone number, email and College ID are required for scheduling purposes.
  • Bookings may be restricted during the academic year to accommodate library related events, library instruction classes, etc.
  • Student groups requesting to reserve the Library Multipurpose Room must have a faculty advisor who is responsible for booking the room.  It is requested that the faculty advisor remain with the group during the duration of their scheduled time.
  • The Library Multipurpose Room will be held for ONLY 30 minutes after the reserved time; after which it will be considered open and available.
  • Reservations  can be cancelled at any time by contacting Terrance Phillips.

Set Up

  • The library does not assume responsibility for setting up the Library Multipurpose Room.
  • If a special setup is required, the booking party is responsible for contacting the Maintenance Department (Ext. 52138) to make appropriate arrangements (including the break down of the room and returning furniture to its original location upon vacating).

Food and Beverages

  • Light refreshments and drinks, in closed containers, are allowed in the Library Multipurpose Room.
  • No food/drinks should be left in the room upon exiting as it is expected to be left in clean condition

Personal items should not be left unattended in the Library Multipurpose Room. The Library does not take responsibility for damage, loss or theft of personal property. Any items found in the Multipurpose Room will be placed in the Library’s lost and found.
