Use of Library Computers

The Asnuntuck Campus Library complies with all Board of Regents system policies regarding the use of computer resources. Violations of this policy may result in legal action. For additional information, see the Internet Use Policy section of the CSCU Acceptable Use Policy.

All computer facilities shall be used solely for legitimate and authorized academic purposes. Students using computer resources for any unauthorized, illegitimate, or illegal use will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action, including, but not limited to, the loss of computing privileges, disciplinary action, and/or criminal prosecution.

Theft, unauthorized use, or abuse of college computers and/or peripheral systems and networks, including, but not limited to:

  • Unauthorized access to ACC computer programs or files; 
  • Unauthorized alteration, transfer, or duplication of ACC computer programs or files; 
  • Unauthorized use of another individual’s identification and/or password; 
  • Deliberate disruption of the operation of ACC computer systems and networks; 
  • Use of the Institution’s computing facilities and resources in violation of copyright laws (including unauthorized peer-to-peer file sharing of copyrighted material, including, but not limited to, copyrighted music, movies, and software);
  • Use of computer facilities and resources to send obscene messages; and
  • Violation of the Board of Regents (BOR) Policy Statement on Acceptable and Responsible Use of Information Technology Resources and/or any applicable BOR computer use policy


Library computers are not filtered; supervision or restriction of a minor's access to the Internet is the responsibility of the parent or guardian. Students are prohibited from logging into multiple computers at a single time.
