Norwalk Campus Archives

Telling our community's stories since 1961

Collaboration and questions welcome!

The Norwalk Campus Archives welcome your questions and input. Please feel free to submit a research request or contact Library Associate Kimberly Bryant-Smith with any questions.

We are open to collaborating with campus divisions or community partners to create physical or virtual displays. As an example of a previous project, the archives worked with the office of CEO Cheryl De Vonish and campus Public Relations staff to create displays commemorating the campus's sixtieth anniversary celebration in 2021. An exhibition on campus intramural sports is currently on display in Baker Library.

Donating materials to the archives

Donations of materials for the archives may be accepted in accordance with the Norwalk Campus Library donation policy. Please email an itemized list of proposed donations to Kimberly Bryant-Smith at kimberly.bryantsmith@ctstate.edu.

Materials that may be accepted include:

  • photographs documenting campus life, events, and activities
  • documents and ephemera created by the college such as yearbooks, student publications, or event posters
  • official minutes or reports created by campus committees or other work units
  • publications by Norwalk Campus community members that document campus practices, procedures, or history

Materials that cannot be accepted include:

  • personal papers of Norwalk Campus students, alumni, or employees
  • textbooks that are not currently in use
  • duplicates of materials already held in the collection

Please note that no archives contain infinite space. Only selected materials can be chosen for preservation. The appropriate procedure for dealing with most physical materials created during the course of an employee's work on campus is set by State of Connecticut law and is handled through the state's official records retention and disposition process.
