Kimberly Hogan was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer for CT State Community College Middlesex (previously Middlesex Community College) in June 2023, after serving in the interim CEO role since April 2022. She leads an institution with more than 4,000 students enrolled in associate degree, certificate, and workforce development programs offered at its main campus in Middletown, a satellite location in Meriden, manufacturing facilities at two technical high schools, online, and at many dual-enrollment, clinical, and internships sites.

Kim’s focus during her long-running career in higher education has always been to manage campus operations and maintain the fiscal and financial integrity of the college. Prior to her current role, she has achieved this success as the Dean of Administration and the campus chief financial officer by monitoring and managing the college’s budgets and providing oversight to major campus operations and facility projects. As a key member of the strategic planning team since 2015, she helps Middlesex meet all of its short- and long-term financial and physical plant needs to best serve its students.

Since her top priority is for Middlesex to excel at all levels, Kim has chaired or served on several committees and team efforts designed to strengthen the success of the entire college community. Beginning in Spring 2020, Kim carried out the significant responsibility of serving as the college’s COVID coordinator by implementing government protocols and arranging for campus testing and vaccine distribution. She is also a valuable member of the Middletown COVID Task Force.

Some of her other college committee work includes the Executive Council; the Council on Diversity Equity and Inclusion; Meriden Strategic initiatives Task Force; the Academic Strategic Plan; Promotion, Tenure and Sabbatical committees; and she is the co-chair of the Board of Regents Finance Shared Services Steering Committee.

As the co-chair of the annual Red Moon fundraising event planning team, Kim collaborates with the Middlesex Community College Foundation to raise $50,000-plus each year to help fund multiple scholarships and additional financial support for students. She also serves as a member of the Foundation Scholarship Committee and the 5K Planning Committee. In 2018, Peach Pit Foundation recognized Kim with a donation in her honor.

In 2021, Kim was elected as the board chairperson of the Middlesex United Way. After her term ended in 2023, she was presented with the prestigious Community Service Award. Kim is also a member of Women’s United, where she has received awards for her service contributions. In addition, she is a board member of Gilead Community Services, a service organization dedicated to helping those living with mental health needs in Middlesex County.

Kim is the campus liaison to the Middlesex Institute for Lifelong Education (MILE) and the Castle Craig Adult Learning Center (CCALC), facilitating the college’s relationships with senior adult education in the community. Kim has been a Math Academy coordinator, and was a lecturer for the college’s non-credit Supervision Certificate and Active Leadership for Management Certificate programs. In 2020, Kim received the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Stole of Gratitude.

Kim earned a Master of Science in educational leadership from Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT, and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) in Glassboro, NJ.

In her spare time, Kim enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She has been a member of the Connecticut Valley Golf League since 2014.
