About Norwalk Campus Library

Values

At our library, we hold the following values in high regard:

  1. Learner-centered community
We prioritize creating a community-centered environment that focuses on the needs and aspirations of our learners. We strive to understand and respond to their unique requirements, providing services, resources, and programs that support their academic journey and personal growth.
  2. Intellectual freedom
We strongly believe in the principles of intellectual freedom, which encompasses the rights of individuals to seek, access, and express information and ideas without censorship or restriction. We uphold the freedom of thought, inquiry, and expression as fundamental rights within our library community.
  3. Innovation and access to information
We recognize the importance of innovation and the transformative power of technology in facilitating access to information and knowledge. By embracing and leveraging emerging technologies, we aim to enhance research and communication capabilities, ensuring that our users have efficient and equitable access to a wealth of information resources.
  4. Process of information to knowledge
We value and actively support the process by which information is transformed into knowledge. We understand that learning and scholarship involve critical thinking, evaluation, and synthesis of information. As a result, we provide resources, services, and instruction that foster this transformation, empowering our college community to engage in intellectual exploration and scholarly pursuits.

By upholding these values, we aim to cultivate an inclusive, dynamic, and intellectually stimulating library environment that empowers our users to become lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and informed members of society. [Summer 2023]
