Jonathan Metivier graduated with a Fine Arts/Graphic Design degree. After being out of school for some time, Jonathan decided to return to college with the encouragement of his wife.
When he returned to school, Jonathan knew he wanted to expand on his natural illustrating talent and enhance those skills. He has found that the graphic design track allows him to be creative in so many different ways.
Jonathan felt that the professors at MxCC were very knowledgeable about the field and the skills it takes to succeed. He thought that the professors provided positive and constructive feedback and constantly pushed him to produce better work.
One of the best experiences that Jonathan had at MxCC was when his work was displayed in student art shows and in the Pegasus publications.
Right now, Jonathan works at the Connecticut Distance Learning Consortium. He is also doing a graphic design internship at the New Britain Museum of American Art. In the future, Jonathan hopes to become an illustrator for a museum, work in a design or advertising firm, and illustrate a children’s book.
