After working as a pharmacy technician, Ayal realized it was not what he wanted to do. He needed a new direction in life. Therefore, he decided to go back to school. Being able to improve himself and his professional resume is a goal Ayal had and he knew that a degree would help him achieve it.
Ayal was not sure what college he wanted to attend or what to study. The deciding factor was when he visited the Center for New Media. The control room and the TV studio were so impressive that it reignited his passion for media production. Seeing the facilities helped him choose Middlesex as his school.
A couple of years ago, Ayal moved from Israel to Connecticut with nothing. He had to work hard in order to keep up with a culture he knew little about. Getting used to a different environment was tough, but Ayal was ready for the challenge. He had not attended school for many years and had never experienced the American school system before. Through sheer tenacity and the help of Middlesex faculty, he went from never writing an English essay in his life, to becoming a member of the Honors Program, a classroom assistant in the English department, and an English tutor to other students.
Ayal maintained a high GPA that puts him on the dean’s list, and he has also received several scholarships for academic achievement. He has also volunteered on and off campus.
After graduation, he plans to pursue a career in studio media production. He is interested in a fast-paced media environment that will challenge him and push his abilities.
In his spare time, Ayal enjoys volunteering at the Trail of Terror in Wallingford. It is a nonprofit haunted organization that donates to local charities. He also likes to watch movies, TV shows, read books, and play video games. His favorite genres are horror, sci-fi and fantasy.
