Middlesex Alumni Stories

Middlesex alumni are thoughtful and productive members of the community. Here are some of the unique stories of these diverse and talented former students.

Second Chances

Cherie Young, MxCC 2010

“After struggling through a few years of college more than 20 years ago, it never occurred to me that I could go back and actually finish what I started,” said Cherie Young, who graduated with an associate in management information systems from Middlesex Community College in 2010.

“A friend helped me take those first steps, and my Middlesex advisors took it from there,” she continued. “They gave me the guidance and confidence to tackle the hardest part—getting started! The rest is history! The experience has taught me how to succeed in every aspect of my life. Best thing I ever did and I reap the rewards every day.”

Cherie was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. She also attended Western Governors University to study data analysis.

She is a membership data analyst for the Connecticut Education Association.
